Erik Sprohge
Erik Sprohge was born in Riga, Latvia, spent his early
childhood in Germany and started grade school in
Houston, Texas. At sixteen he was awarded a
scholarship at the Houston Museum School of Art and
concurrently built dioramas for the Houston Museum
of Natural History. He then earned a five-year degree
in architecture at The Rice Institute and in 1954 won
the William Ward Watkin Traveling Fellowship
enabling him to travel extensively in Europe.
